Bendy buses arrive in Cardiff
Good Relations Wales organised the unveiling of Cardiff Bus' new OmniCity articulated buses (bendy buses), the latest stage in its four year £18million investment programme.
The new vehicles are the first buses in Wales to offer passengers the opportunity to watch live BBC News 24. Thirteen of the buses were lined up along Cardiff's Queen Street which has been pedestrianised for the last 30 years and is the hub of Cardiff's shopping district, allowing the general public to see for themselves the state-of-the-art vehicles that are set to revolutionise public transport in the city.
Good Relations Wales organised one to one briefings with the key trade media including Transit and Coach and Bus Week as well as securing broadcast coverage on BBC Radio and TV, and ITV Wales. Pre-record interviews were arranged in advance to ensure maximum coverage on the launch day itself. The event was also covered by print media such as The Western Mail.
Present at the launch was the First Minister for Wales Rhodri Morgan and the leader of Cardiff Council Rodney Berman.
