Good Relations Wales launches Tower Fund in Cynon Valley Communities

This spring sees Tower Colliery begin mining once again. For every tonne of coal produced through the open cast mining 44 pence will be put into a ‘pot’ called the Tower Fund. This fund will add up to millions of pounds over the next seven years – and it’s all to be spent in the communities of Hirwaun, Penderyn, Penywaun and Rhigos.
Anyone who lives in these areas can apply for a grant from the Tower Fund. Grants will be available to support all sorts of community projects – big and small – from social enterprises and ‘green’ energy schemes to training opportunities and youth projects.

Good Relations Wales handle PIP implants issue for client Hugh James

The Good Relations Wales team has recently been involved in handling media relations surrounding the worldwide faulty breast implants story for our client, Hugh James solicitors. Many women who were supplied with the faulty PIP implants during breast augmentation experienced agonising problems including ruptures, leakages and painful lumps. Mark Harvey, Head of Litigation at Hugh James, has been campaigning on the behalf of his clients for clear guidance from the UK authorities and a suitable protocol for women affected by PIPs. We have worked with Mark to ensure he has been the leading legal spokesperson on the issue.
